The Adams fly was first tied by Leonard Halladay in Mayfield, Michigan in 1922. It was made to imitate mayflies that had hatched on Michigan`s Boardman river and the fly was named after Leonard`s good friend, Charles Adams and became on of the most popular flies in Oregon.
